BEHIND THE BOTTLE

SEE PT. I

Disgusted of what Ylli has concocted, Long asked him which barrels he blended. After a whole pow-wow of discussing the ratios and why each barrel played a key role for The S’more (LW.23.001), they had a genius idea… Many a time you run into someone in your life who has the balls to say ‘I could totally be a master blender or distiller’ where the most appropriate reaction is a scoff and a chuckle. They wanted to test the market and really see if there are those guys out there, therefore they requested that each barrel that made LW.23.001 be bottled at 375ml, with the idea that they would sell a 3-pk to entertain people to beat the blend, or guess the blend. Guess it right and you get $50, one attempt per customer. The limited 50 case run for the 3-pk is only available in store only at Allocated.

So then comes the question of The DoughBoi. Ylli and Long were infatuated with the profile of one of the barrels that made the blend. It was too good not to scoop up the remaining barrel yield, hence the inception of the second Light Whiskey under the Allocated umbrella.

This was the initial barrel that was going to be released, however due to Ylli having a blending problem, the boiz ended up with two 750ml expressions. Hilariously enough, they are both classified as light whiskey. Don’t ask Long what he thinks about light whiskey as a category.

To ensure the public knows Ylli blended it for the bottle shop and is not a part of his ‘J. Matt Series,’ they have bottled it in a different glass. While picking out the glass, it is worth mentioning the last funny anecdote before they left Bourbon 30; when Long tapped out because his palate was fatiguing and was getting past the point of tipsy, Ylli made a comment, ‘I’m not even feelin’ it.’ - guess which outfit member was lightly snoring for the next hour and some change in the Altima while the other member had to meet and greet the good people at Good Times. Hint- his name doesn’t rhyme with pong.
