Two local gentlemen who came together via an immense passion over whisky with the same goal in mind- create a brand which is intrinsitcally associated with spreading the word of finer spirits, sharing those spirits and having lively conversation over said spirits.

Ylli F. | AK Whisky Godfather
Born and bred as a lifelong Alaskan from Albanian immigrants who’ve owned and operated restaurants in the State of Alaska since the 1980’s, Ylli was raised with hospitality in his blood. It wasn’t until the opening of Fiori D’Italia in 1995 that the Ferati family made a name for themselves, now a renown Italian dining destination in the heart of Spenard.
From growing up in the kitchen, to graduating with a BBA in business management, Ylli sought after higher aspirations. Not long after college, Ylli started to work behind the bar at Fiori’s. It was at that time, he channeled his passion and expertise into crafting exceptional cocktails as the mastermind behind Fiori's distinguished whiskey program. That passion and dedication to the art of mixology led Fiori’s to be THE premium cocktail bar. Not to mention the impressive 800+ bottles of whiskey behind the bar which has garnered multiple accolades and features in various publications.
Known to his patrons as the Alaska Whisky Godfather, Ylli wasn’t satisfied with the industry standard of what was in bar wells. To have premium cocktails, you need premium ingredients. He took his knowledge of being raised as a chef and being a top-tier mixologist into the whiskey barrel blending scene. This directed him to partnering with multiple outfits out of Kentucky in order to curate the countless whiskies he would soon be showcasing at the bar. Whether the whiskey be served as a dram, or served in his iconic old fashion, it is undoubtedly clear to everyone that he has elevated the game.
Allocated has been a goal of his since 2020, and it wasn’t until he met Long that he knew he had a partner in operations. Their shared passion over the spirit led them to starting what is now established as Allocated.
Ylli is the biggest market mover of whiskey in the State of Alaska, bar none. Anyone who knows him, knows he drinks the good s**t and the old s**t. However, those who have ever seen him in the wild- it’s almost always a Kettle soda.
He lives by the motto - don’t try to be the best, just do your best.
Long L. | AK Whisky Don
A graduate degree in accounting and licensed CPA, Long never thought when he started working in public accounting it would drive him into the spirits industry. A casual connoisseur of whisky with a large personal collection himself, he always dreamt of the day when he would be able to quit his day job to speak about spirits.
He saw a need in the spirits market where he craved the conversation in shopping for new spirits. Essentially, he wanted to tell someone what he liked and disliked about certain spirits and be suggested something new, something same-same but different. Thus, came the inception of what Allocated could be.
Growing up in small businesses all his life and auditing small organizations, it was only natural that Long have the entrepreneurial spirit flowing through his veins. Ylli mentioned the idea of Allocated back in 2020, where Long was still an auditor full-time, traveling all over the State of Alaska, but it was something he thought about often. As the years past, the more they talked, the idea of Allocated soon became a potential reality.
Timing is everything. Long ended up having to take a lesser role as an auditor, which then poised Ylli to bring up the idea again. It was a no brainer. Long knew Ylli would be the perfect partner, as he sought the conversation he always had at Fiori’s over a dram. Plus, they are both big promoters of the ‘try before you buy’ principle. Then came establishing Allocated.
He is passionate about advocating for drinking less and drinking better. This has led him into the world of whisky. He is a purist at heart, but you can catch him sending shots of flavored soju and having sexy finished bourbons on any given Sunday.
He lives by the motto, understanding that alcohol is a drug, that - if you do drugs, do designer drugs.
