BEHIND THE BOTTLE
This is Ylli’s fourth EC barrel select. His love for EC begins with the consistency of the juice. Bardstown produces some of the best bourbons out there. For EC’s core products, it has always been affordable to get old age bourbon at a reasonable price. The juice may be high proof, but lord knows it doesn’t drink like it. Ylli was surprised by the minty nose and malty palate on this barrel and that’s why she was chosen.
EDITOR’S NOTES: Drake really does always happen to be on when I’m writing these up. I got it open in a blender’s glass right now. She smells like old corn. I love it. The mint pops off. No shot this is really 10% rye. I need a mash bill gauge reader or something. The palate she really is a pure caramel bomb. 2% more and we are touching straight corn territory (shout out to JD No.7). The finish is really where it’s at. Cherry, leather, carbonation and a lil’ maple oak. Proofy and doesn’t drink like it, isn’t that what we all want. The price kills us to rack it for 80. Inflation is finally here y’all. Cheers all and savor slowly.
